Former Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto, along with her sons Luis Manzano and Ryan Recto, have officially filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) for various positions in the upcoming 2025 elections.
Vilma, who previously served as Batangas governor from 2007 to 2016, is making a bid to reclaim the position. Her son Luis, a popular television host and actor, will be running as her vice governor. Meanwhile, her younger son, Ryan, is vying for a congressional seat in Batangas’ 6th District, a position once held by his mother.
The family is running under the Nacionalista Party, led by former Senator Manny Villar. Joining them during the COC filing were Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, Vilma’s husband, and Luis’ wife, actress Jessie Mendiola.
