Vice President Sara Duterte recently met with a group of Filipinos in Germany, expressing her gratitude for their unwavering support and dedication to their home country.
The gathering included 22 Filipinos from Switzerland, Austria, and various parts of Germany, all members of the organization Hakbang ng Maisug International Germany.
“Maraming salamat sa oras ninyo at sa panahong ibinigay ninyo sa akin, ngayong hapon to break bread with me. Siyempre para maituro ninyo sa akin kung ano ang masarap na pagkain dito sa Germany,” Duterte said, appreciating the warm reception from her compatriots.
During the meeting, held in Munich, Duterte took the opportunity to thank her supporters in Germany and across Europe for their steadfast support over the years.
“Malaki ang utang na loob namin sa inyong mga kababayan namin sa pagkakataon na makapaglingkod sa ating bayan, mula sa aking ama si former President Rodrigo Duterte hanggang sa akin ngayon, nandiyan pa rin buo, mainit, matibay at maisug ang inyong suporta sa akin at aming pamilya, kasama na rin ang aking mag kapatid na si Baste at Paolo,” the Vice President said, acknowledging the consistent backing her family has received.
She also recognized the personal sacrifices many supporters make to help their fellow Filipinos, noting, “Marami sa inyo gumagastos ng sariling pera na naghihirap doon sa probinsya. You are blessed and you are sharing your blessings with our kababayans.”
Duterte’s meeting on the afternoon of July 27 was a brief break from her family vacation in Munich. Despite the criticism regarding the timing of her vacation due to widespread flooding in Metro Manila and nearby areas, her office explained that the trip had been planned for a long time and emphasized the importance of respecting her privacy. They also assured that her office is ready to act to help fellow Filipinos in need.
“Maraming salamat din sa pagmamahal ninyo sa ating mga kababayan at sa inyong interes na maayos ang gobyerno natin at maayos ang bayan natin,” Duterte added, reaffirming her commitment to serve Filipinos both in the country and abroad with sincerity and dedication.
“Ang pangako namin lagi sa mga kababayan ay ‘yung sinserong pagse-serbisyo sa bayan at ibibigay ang lahat para maayos ang bayan,” Duterte pledged, concluding the heartfelt meeting with her supporters in Germany.
