Vice Ganda returns with thanks, energy, and a treat for Showtime audience

Vice Ganda made a heartfelt comeback on the stage of It’s Showtime after several days of absence, following his back-to-back “Super Divas” concert with Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez.

Welcomed warmly by his co-hosts on Saturday, August 16, the comedian-TV host expressed how refreshed he felt after taking time off. “I’m so happy to be back! Nakapagpahinga na ako,” he said, sharing that he was finally able to relax, sleep longer, and regain his strength.

The “Unkabogable Star” also extended his appreciation to fans who supported his successful two-night show and celebrated his recent nomination for the FAMAS Best Actor award. “Maraming salamat sa nag-uumapaw na pagmamahal ng Madlang People… I am really very happy,” he said. “Sa lahat ng mga tao na nagmamahal sa akin, araw-araw ko pong ipinagdiriwang ang pagmamahal niyo sa akin.”

Adding a lighthearted twist to his return, Vice surprised the live audience by announcing he would treat everyone present to a meal at a fast-food chain he endorses.

The gesture came amid ongoing chatter about the brand’s new campaign featuring Heart Evangelista, which critics linked to the backlash Vice faced over his satirical “jetski holiday” skit referencing former President Rodrigo Duterte. The performance reportedly led to a decline in his social media following and calls for a boycott of his endorsements.

As of now, Vice Ganda has yet to comment directly on the controversy.
