Vice Ganda demands death penalty for corrupt officials

Vice Ganda delivered a scathing message during the Trillion Peso March at the People Power Monument, calling for the reinstatement of the death penalty for officials allegedly tied to corruption in flood control projects.

“Ibalik ang death penalty sa mga corrupt. Ikulong pati pamilya nila,” the comedy superstar declared, drawing loud reactions from the crowd.

The “It’s Showtime” host stressed that corruption is more destructive than murder or terrorism, saying: “Ang corrupt na politiko ay higit pa sa mamamatay tao. Ang korapsyon ay higit sa terorismo… Ang magnanakaw walang pinipili. Kapwa Pilipino ang inaabuso.”

Vice also challenged Filipinos to shed their tolerance and confront those responsible for stealing public funds. “Tapos na ang panahon ng mabait at resilient… ‘Di na uubra bait-baitan. Hindi ko babaitan mensahe ko — sa katunayan, mga hayop sila. Hindi natin kakalmahan dahil deserve nila ang galit, poot, at pikon,” she said.

Turning her attention to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Vice pressed him to act decisively against corruption. “PBBM, upang magkaroon ng magandang legasiya ipakulong mo lahat ng magnanakaw. Inaasahan ka namin. Swine-swelduhan ka namin PBBM. Kami nagpapasahod sa inyo. Tapos na panahon takot sa gobyerno. Takutin natin. Ipakulong lahat. Lahat. Bawiin mga ari-arian,” she urged.

Joining her on stage after the march from EDSA Shrine were Anne and Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Darren Espanto, Donny Pangilinan, and Jackie Gonzaga.

Thousands of protesters filled the streets nationwide to denounce alleged large-scale corruption in the government’s flood control projects.
