Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, announced a significant increase in the deportation of expatriates, with 7,000 to 8,000 individuals being expelled each month as part of the government’s rigorous crackdown on residency violators. These actions are part of ongoing campaigns aimed at enforcing visa regulations and maintaining national security.
Sheikh Al-Yousef, who also serves as the Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior, emphasized that the Supreme Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Nationality is working diligently to withdraw citizenships where evidence supports such action. So far, 850 individuals have had their nationalities revoked without objection, as the decisions were based on solid evidence.
The Ministry of Interior’s efforts extend to tackling visit visa violations, with strict penalties in place for violators and their sponsors. Sheikh Al-Yousef highlighted the ministry’s commitment to upholding the law, warning that these measures will continue until the country is cleansed of violators.
In addition to addressing visa issues, Sheikh Al-Yousef revealed plans for new legislation targeting money laundering, alongside efforts to recover looted funds from abroad. The Ministry of Interior is also intensifying security campaigns and taking steps to improve the country’s overall security and discipline.
