United Airlines has officially introduced its new direct service between Tokyo Narita and Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), with the first flight landing on Sunday night, October 27. This new addition expands American airline operations within the Philippines, following the success of United’s Manila-San Francisco route, which began last year.
The inaugural flight was greeted with a traditional water cannon salute, celebrating the airline’s entry into Cebu’s growing international connectivity. The new daily service from MCIA departs at 9:30 a.m., arriving at Tokyo Narita at 3:15 p.m. The return flight leaves Narita at 5:30 p.m. and reaches Cebu at 10:05 p.m.
Operating a Boeing 737-800 on this route, United Airlines offers 166 seats per flight, including 16 business class seats, accommodating increased travel demand between Japan and the Philippines.
