Union Coop, a prominent retailer based in Dubai, has unveiled extensive discounts of up to 75% on a wide range of products in anticipation of the holy month of Ramadan. CEO Mohamed Al Hashemi shared the exciting news during a media briefing, revealing plans for 11 campaigns offering discounts on over 4,000 items, ranging from 50% to 75% off.
Additionally, the retailer will maintain locked prices on 2,000 products and organize a raffle draw with 14 new cars up for grabs during the promotional period. Furthermore, exclusive discounts will be available for Tamayaz cardholders, who currently number nearly a million.
Last year, Union Coop provided discounts worth Dh10 million, with this year’s offerings set to surpass that amount, as stated by the CEO. With Ramadan set to begin on March 12, 2024, according to the Hijri calendar, the retailer aims to ensure affordability for consumers during this significant period.
Starting March 8, shoppers will have the convenience of using Nol card, AliPay, and WeChat for their purchases at Union Coop hypermarkets. Al Hashemi emphasized the company’s commitment to stabilizing grocery prices by sourcing more products locally and capping prices on 2,000 essential items.
Furthermore, Union Coop plans to expand its presence in new areas of Dubai to meet rising demand and explore opportunities in foreign markets to diversify its product offerings. Al Hashemi also expressed intentions to boost the company’s e-commerce sales, which currently account for 8 to 10% of its business.
