After enjoying a long Eid Al Fitr weekend, UAE residents can now look forward to their next break, expected in early June.
According to preliminary projections, Arafat Day—which marks a key point in the annual Hajj pilgrimage—may fall on Thursday, June 5. If confirmed, this would be followed immediately by the three-day Eid Al Adha celebration, potentially giving both public and private sector workers a four-day weekend, from June 5 (Thursday) to June 8 (Sunday). Regular work would resume on Monday, June 9.
Eid Al Adha, known as the “festival of sacrifice,” honors the story of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith. Traditionally, families gather to pray, feast, and distribute meat to the needy.
As with all Islamic holidays, exact dates will be officially announced based on moon sightings closer to the time.
