UAE weather update: Heavy rains continue as temperatures drop to 21°C in some areas

Residents in the UAE are preparing for more rain and cooler temperatures today, with the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issuing warnings for severe weather across various regions.

Fujairah, Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, and Khor Fakkan have been particularly affected, experiencing heavy rain, hail, and thunderstorms. Videos posted by the Storm Centre show early morning rains flooding parts of Fujairah, adding to the weather concerns.

According to a Khaleej Times report, the NCM predicts today’s weather to be fair to partly cloudy, with increased cloudiness and a likelihood of rain in eastern and southern regions. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally strengthening and causing blowing dust.

Sea conditions are expected to be slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Temperatures will see a significant dip, reaching a low of 21°C in some areas, while internal regions could experience highs of up to 46°C.

The rainy weather is forecasted to continue until Thursday, August 8, driven by the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) moving towards the UAE and upper-level pressure systems from the east, bringing more clouds and precipitation.
