The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) of the UAE has issued a warning to residents about potential fraudulent activities using the UAE Pass, a digital identity solution.
This announcement comes in response to several posts circulating on social media platforms suggesting fraud related to the app.
The TDRA took to microblogging platform X, previously known as Twitter, to inform and assure residents.
“The UAE Pass is a secure platform. However, we emphasize the importance of being cautious with any notifications or login requests. Always verify before taking any action to prevent unauthorized access,” the statement read.
UAE Pass is the country’s premier digital identity and signature app, designed to offer a secure way for users to authenticate themselves to service providers using just their smartphones.
A significant advantage is its ability to provide users with a unique digital identity, doing away with the need for multiple usernames and passwords across different applications.
