UAE warns public to steer clear of debris after Iranian missile strike

Residents across the UAE have been told to keep their distance from any shrapnel or unidentified objects on the ground following an Iranian ballistic missile attack that prompted a swift response from air defence systems.

NCEMA issued the advisory in the aftermath of strikes by the US and Israel on Iran, directing the public not to approach or photograph such objects and to allow trained personnel to handle them.

One civilian of Asian nationality was killed after missile debris landed in a residential area, causing material damage. The Ministry of Defense confirmed that air defence systems intercepted a number of the incoming projectiles, describing the interception as highly efficient.

Authorities maintained that the country’s security situation has remained stable throughout, with all relevant agencies tracking developments on a continuous basis.

The Ministry characterized the attack as a flagrant violation targeting civilian infrastructure and national institutions, calling it a cowardly act that endangers lives and threatens regional stability. It stopped short of outlining any specific retaliatory steps, but affirmed the UAE’s categorical rejection of such aggression.

“Authorities in the UAE also handled the fall of some missile debris in a residential area which resulted in some material damage,” the Ministry said in its statement.
