In a bid to extend humanitarian support amidst the Gaza crisis, the UAE government has announced its initiative to offer medical treatment to 1,000 Palestinian children in local hospitals.
The directive, given urgency by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aligns with the UAE’s ongoing commitment to aiding global communities in distress.
This major development was revealed during a telephonic conversation today between Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mirjana Spoljaric, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The initiative comes as a significant extension of the UAE’s continuous endeavors to deliver relief to the Palestinian population, notably the children, who are grappling with dire humanitarian challenges.
Both Sheikh Abdullah and Spoljaric underscored the necessity of ensuring the secure, uninterrupted, and consistent dispatch of medical and relief aid to Gaza’s civilians. Furthermore, they stressed the importance of bolstering regional and global strategies to enhance the humanitarian response and cater to the needs of those impacted by the crisis.
