UAE to host anime festival with AED400,000 cosplay contest and live entertainment

Anime enthusiasts are in for a treat as Abu Dhabi gears up to host Animenia, the largest anime festival in the region, from October 23 to 27. According to a Khaleej Times report, the event will take place on the scenic beachfront of Saadiyat Island and promises an exciting lineup of anime-inspired entertainment.

Attendees will enjoy live shows, including J-pop performances and acrobatic displays, along with the chance to meet characters like Naruto, Attack on Titan, and Hello Kitty. Special guests include Syrian singer and voice actress Rasha Rizk, performing on October 25, and the Japanese J-pop band Flow, taking the stage the following day.

The festival will kick off with a performance by Yoko Takahashi, famous for her song in Neon Genesis Evangelion. Other featured acts include Anime singer Mojo and the band Angela.

For gaming fans, there will be a designated VR and Esports zone, along with Japanese arcade games. Visitors can also participate in anime-themed workshops or showcase their cosplay skills in an international competition with over Dh400,000 in prizes.
