UAE to face dusty winds, rough seas, and patchy fog this weekend

UAE residents are being urged to brace for strong winds, rough seas, and possible fog over the weekend, as per a weather update from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).

The country is currently seeing sunny to partly cloudy skies, but strong northwesterly winds reaching up to 40 km/h are sweeping across parts of the nation. The Arabian Gulf is expected to see waves as high as eight feet, prompting an official marine alert that will stay in effect until 2pm on Saturday, April 19.

Authorities have advised residents, especially those living near the coast, to avoid heading out to sea, swimming, or engaging in any marine activities until conditions improve.

By Saturday, fair to partly cloudy skies are expected to continue, but with a rise in nighttime humidity. Fog or mist could form early Sunday morning, particularly in northern inland areas.

The winds will stay moderate to fresh, with occasional strong gusts blowing dust and sand, making outdoor conditions potentially uncomfortable. The sea will remain rough to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
