Sharjah will soon see the addition of two new football stadiums built on mountain tops, as announced by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. This innovative project aims to provide Kalba Club and Khor Fakkan Club with “humidity-free atmospheres” to enhance playing conditions for the players.
According to a Khaleej Times report, the new stadium for Kalba Club will be constructed at an altitude of 850 feet above sea level, while the Khor Fakkan Club stadium will be situated even higher at 900 feet above sea level. According to Sheikh Dr. Sultan, these elevated locations will result in a temperature difference of approximately 10 degrees, offering a cooler and more comfortable environment for the athletes.
In addition to this announcement, the Sharjah Ruler commended the emirate’s clubs for their excellent performance in the ADNOC Professional League for the 2023-2024 season. The new stadiums are expected to further support and elevate the standards of football within the region.
