UAE thwarts over 50,000 cyberattacks daily with advanced security system

The UAE successfully neutralizes more than 50,000 cyberattacks daily, thanks to its advanced cybersecurity infrastructure, according to Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cybersecurity Council.

Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Dr. Al Kuwaiti emphasized that the country’s national security operations center is fully integrated with key sectors such as electricity, water, healthcare, energy, and banking. This digital framework allows authorities to predict, detect, and block cyber threats before they cause harm.

He highlighted the growing sophistication of cyber warfare, with attackers using AI-driven tools, deepfakes, and misinformation campaigns to manipulate public opinion and disrupt societies. Many of these attacks, he noted, are state-sponsored or linked to terrorist organizations.

To further strengthen the country’s defenses, the Cybersecurity Council is set to conduct cybersecurity simulations at IDEX and NAVDEX 2025 in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and other partners. These exercises will focus on combating digital threats, including misinformation and deepfake technology.
