A burglar in Dubai was left empty-handed after breaking into a villa only to find no valuables inside. The rapid action of the Dubai Police ensured his capture, leading to his sentencing of one month’s imprisonment and subsequent deportation.
The burglar targeted what appeared to be vacant houses and settled on the villa owned by an Arab woman. Entering the villa late at night after breaching its fence, he was met with disappointment as there were no valuables or cash to be found.
The Dubai Public Prosecution revealed that upon their quick intervention, the burglar confessed to his crime. The court, recognizing the gravity of his actions, decided to merge the charges of attempted theft and trespassing.
Emarat Alyoum reported the burglar’s sentence of one month in jail followed by deportation.
In light of such incidents, the Dubai Police has emphasized the importance of home security, especially when residents are away. They offer a service titled ‘Secure Your Home Before You Travel’ for those going on vacation. In a reassuring tweet, they recently affirmed, “Rest assured, your homes are in safe hands.”
