UAE temperatures drop to 7ºC in Jais Mountain as winter approaches

Temperatures in the UAE plunged to 7ºC early Saturday morning at Jais Mountain, Ras Al Khaimah, according to Khaleej Times citing the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The reading was recorded at 3:30 am on November 30, marking one of the coldest mornings as the country transitions to winter.

On Friday, the mercury had dropped to 9.7ºC in the same area, reflecting a steady cooling trend. Despite these chilly mornings, daytime temperatures in internal areas could climb as high as 30ºC.

The NCM issued a yellow alert for rough seas, with northwesterly winds reaching up to 40km/h and waves hitting up to 6 feet offshore in the Oman Sea. The advisory remains in effect until 11 am on Sunday, December 1. Additionally, an orange alert cautions seafarers of waves reaching up to 10 feet in the Arabian Gulf, with the advisory lasting until Sunday morning.
