The UAE has conveyed its strong support for the Philippines following the devastation caused by Typhoon Kristine (international name Trami), which left a trail of destruction in several regions of the country. The storm, which hit in October 2024, resulted in over 26 fatalities, displaced hundreds of thousands, and caused significant damage to homes, infrastructure, and agriculture.
In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep condolences to the government and people of the Philippines, extending sympathy to the families of the victims. The UAE also wished for the speedy recovery of those injured during the natural disaster.
Typhoon Kristine caused severe flooding, landslides, and transportation disruptions, particularly in the Bicol region and other parts of the country. Rescue and relief efforts are ongoing as the Philippines continues to recover from the extensive damage left in the storm’s wake.
