The UAE is set to make history by potentially hosting the world’s first-ever flying car race. Christian Pineau, Chief Executive of Maca Flight, has indicated the UAE as a prime candidate for this groundbreaking event.
This development aligns with the UAE’s commitment to pioneering technological advancements, as it also prepares to host the largest autonomous car racing event on April 28, 2024. Pineau, in an interview with Khaleej Times, expressed Maca Flight’s ambition to establish the first real flying car racing championship, with the UAE leading the way.
Earlier in January, Maca Flight showcased its hydrogen-powered flying racing car at CES 2023. Priced at two million dollars, this eco-friendly vehicle boasts a top speed of 250 km/h and produces zero carbon emissions. The inaugural race is expected to feature single-seater flying cars with 8 to 10 competitors.
Maca Flight has partnered with Red Bull to launch this championship by the end of 2025. Pineau mentioned that the first race could take place in Dubai or another location within the UAE. Additionally, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain have expressed interest in this innovative project.
