UAE sends 33,000 family food packs to aid Typhoon Kristine victims in the Philippines

The UAE has sent 33,000 family food packs as relief assistance to communities in the Philippines affected by the devastation of Typhoon Kristine.

The initial distribution of food packs reached 1,000 families in Marikina City, led by Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, UAE Ambassador to the Philippines Mohamed Obaid Alzaabi, Emirates Red Crescent Chairman Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, and Special Envoy to the UAE Kathryna Yu Pimentel.

Following this initial distribution, the remaining 30,000 family food packs will be directed to areas in the Bicol Region, which was among the hardest hit by the storm.

Typhoon Kristine, also known as Severe Tropical Storm Trami, impacted multiple regions in the country, causing severe flooding, landslides, and power outages. The storm led to the evacuation of over 300,000 residents, with Luzon and parts of Visayas and Mindanao particularly affected.
