In a turn of events marked by good fortune, Riyas Parambathkandy, a 45-year-old school bus driver based in Abu Dhabi, has won Dh100,000 in the Big Ticket’s weekly e-draw, as announced by Big Ticket on Friday, September 22.
Remarkably, this isn’t the first time that Parambathkandy has tasted victory; he had previously won Dh40,000 in 2012 in the same raffle.
Hailing from Kerala, India, Parambathkandy has been participating in the Big Ticket draw with 15 of his friends since 2008.
The recent win left him ecstatic, having bagged a prize significantly larger than his first. “I am so happy about my win. I knew that I would win again,” he shared.
Parambathkandy missed the initial call from Big Ticket representatives informing him of his win as he was at work.
However, a friend checked the Big Ticket website and discovered the good news. Elated, Parambathkandy immediately shared the joyous update with his family.
“I was very happy, and I called my wife and kids, and they were all happy,” said Parambathkandy, a father to children aged 7, 9, and 11.
As for the plans with his newfound wealth, Parambathkandy intends to share the prize with his friends and use his portion to bring his family to Abu Dhabi for a two-month vacation.
Despite having won twice, Parambathkandy and his friends remain hopeful for the future, with plans to continue participating in the Big Ticket draw.
He confidently stated, “I am sure that one day we will win the grand prize.”
