The Sharjah Cooperative Society has unveiled its plans for Ramadan 2024, earmarking a substantial Dh35 million budget to facilitate the holy month’s observance. As part of its initiatives, the retailer has announced significant price reductions on nearly 10,000 items, with a focus on essential food products.
These price cuts, reaching up to 75 per cent, extend to staples like cooking oil, flour, and rice. The reductions are applicable across all 67 branches of the society spread throughout the emirate. To further enhance affordability, the retailer will roll out weekly offers, introducing additional discounts on items beyond the initial 10,000, starting from February 22.
In a bid to foster community engagement, the campaign includes grand giveaways, featuring two Suzuki Dzire cars weekly, along with furniture and shopping gift cards for eligible shoppers. Moreover, the Society is set to offer three types of food baskets, priced between Dh99 to Dh399, available for purchase for donation purposes, in collaboration with Sharjah Charity.
Majid Al Junaid, CEO of Sharjah Cooperative Society, assured customers of the retailer’s commitment to ensuring a consistent supply of necessary products, despite global supply chain challenges. Al Junaid addressed concerns regarding potential price hikes during Ramadan, reiterating the Society’s pledge to maintain affordable rates.
