UAE residents warned of new fake job scams circulating on social media

Ras Al Khaimah police have issued a warning to residents about new fake job advertisements circulating on social media. The police used Instagram to raise awareness about these scams and explain how they operate in a detailed five-step process.

The scam begins with a fake job announcement online, attracting victims who then register for the supposed job. Applicants are led to believe the position is in the sales department of a company. These applicants unknowingly facilitate the transfer of money from other people into various bank accounts, thinking they are being rewarded for legitimate work. However, the money involved is illegal.

The police have urged residents who suspect they might be victims of such scams to report to the nearest police station immediately, emphasizing that even victims can be held legally accountable.
