The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a red alert for dense fog, warning residents to remain highly vigilant as visibility deteriorates. The advisory, effective until 9:30 a.m., comes as foggy mornings continue across coastal and internal areas.
This latest alert follows a week of reduced visibility across the country as the UAE transitions into cooler winter weather. In response, Abu Dhabi Police reminded motorists to exercise caution and adhere to updated speed limits displayed on electronic boards.
Today’s weather is forecasted to be generally fair with occasional clouds. Humid conditions by night may bring more fog or mist tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority advised residents to prepare for the upcoming rainy season, encouraging proactive measures to maintain stable electricity supplies.
Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 38ºC in mountainous regions and drop as low as 17ºC. Humidity levels could hit up to 95% in coastal areas. Light to moderate winds are also anticipated, with calm seas in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
