Residents across various areas of the UAE encountered network problems on Tuesday evening while using Du telecom services. Many reported difficulties accessing applications on their devices, including social media platforms and YouTube.
Aman D, a resident of Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC), described in a Khaleej Times report the onset of the issue around 7 pm, noting disruptions in both television and phone connectivity. Similar reports emerged from Downtown Dubai, Bur Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, indicating widespread disturbances in service.
By 7:30 pm, Downdetector witnessed a significant increase in user reports regarding Du network issues. Tina Saguil, residing in Damac Hills 2, shared experiences of intermittent connectivity before a complete loss of Internet connection, prompting concerns among users regarding bill payments.
Social media platforms quickly became inundated with complaints from affected users. Despite this, Du clarified that the disruptions were not due to internal outages or faults.
In a statement, the network explained that the incident was “not due to any outages or faults within the Du network”.
It added that they are “collaborating with partners and international ISP (internet service providers) to ascertain the incident. At the outset, we want to assure our users that we remain dedicated to maintaining the highest standard of network performance and will continue our vigilant oversight of all our systems.”
As of 9:45 pm, users have reported a return to normalcy in Du services.
