UAE residents have been granted the opportunity to apply for an eVisa to Morocco, effectively eliminating the need to visit the embassy. The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Abu Dhabi made the announcement on March 4, introducing a simplified process for exploring the enchanting landscapes and vibrant markets of Morocco.
Eligibility for the eVisa requires a valid Emirates ID card, ensuring a minimum of 180 days of residency within the UAE. The visa, once issued, remains valid for 180 days, permitting a single entry for a stay up to 30 days in Morocco.
Prospective travelers need to prepare a copy of their UAE residence visa (with over 180 days of validity), a passport copy (valid for more than 90 days), and a passport-sized photograph to begin the application process. Applications can be submitted through the website acces-maroc.ma, where individuals will be guided through a series of steps, from verifying visa requirements based on nationality and residence to finalizing the application with personal and travel details.
The process includes confirming the purpose of the trip, whether it be tourism, business, or other reasons, and verifying travel conditions such as return tickets, accommodation arrangements, and sufficient financial means. The application concludes with the submission of required documents and payment, with two processing options available: standard, taking up to three business days, and express, which aims for a one-business-day turnaround.
