The National Search and Rescue Centre (NSRC), in collaboration with the Fujairah Police and Civil Defence, successfully rescued a man stranded in the Fujairah mountains on Friday.
The individual was discovered in an extreme state of exhaustion. Rapid response saw a helicopter dispatched to the location, allowing rescuers to rappel down and secure the man. He was subsequently airlifted to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Authorities reiterate their advice for residents and tourists exploring mountainous regions. They stress the importance of careful trip planning, carrying additional food and water, and ensuring phones are fully charged. In case of emergencies, the recommended contact number is 999.
