A red alert has been issued for fog in parts of the UAE, active from 6:15 am to 9:00 am, due to reduced visibility that may worsen at times. A yellow alert had also been in place earlier from 4:30 am to 9:00 am. Fog was reported in several areas of Abu Dhabi, prompting temporary speed reductions on roads such as Al Taf and Sweihan.
According to a Khaleej Times report, Abu Dhabi Police have urged motorists to drive cautiously due to the changing road conditions. Speed limits have now returned to normal.
Following the autumn equinox on September 22, temperatures have begun to drop, with today’s forecast showing a range of 30°C to 39°C in Abu Dhabi and 31°C to 38°C in Dubai. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) predicts fair weather, with chances of fog or mist forming overnight and early Thursday morning. Light to moderate winds are expected, with calm seas in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
