Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), highlighted the UAE’s position as the world’s leading country in humanitarian aid, according to international reports assessing global relief efforts.
In an interview with Emirates News Agency (WAM), Al Mazrouei revealed that the UAE contributed over 40% of international aid during the Gaza crisis, demonstrating its commitment to supporting communities in times of need.
He emphasized the significance of the country’s diplomatic ties with various nations and global humanitarian organizations, which play a key role in strengthening aid delivery. Under the leadership of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the ERC, the organization continues to enhance its humanitarian efforts through strategic partnerships.
Al Mazrouei also pointed to the recent Humanitarian Partnerships Forum, hosted by the ERC, as a platform for collaboration between local and international entities, including UN agencies and UAE government institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He stressed that efficient coordination is essential in delivering aid to crisis-hit regions like Gaza and beyond.
With its humanitarian reach extending to over 115 countries, the UAE continues to advocate for global cooperation in relief efforts. Al Mazrouei expressed gratitude to all partners working alongside the ERC and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to upholding the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, while continuing the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a pioneer in the country’s humanitarian mission.
