The UAE has delivered three tonnes of medical supplies and a variety of medicines to support the healthcare sector and hospitals still operating in the Gaza Strip, following recent events in Khan Younis.
This assistance comes in response to urgent calls from the health sector about a severe shortage of medicines, including those at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis. The UAE’s aid aims to ensure the continued provision of medical services to the injured and healthcare for all displaced individuals.
The shipment includes essential medical supplies for hospitals facing shortages, medicines for various types of injuries, a quantity of insulin for diabetic patients, and various solutions to bolster the healthcare sector during this critical time.
Coordinating with various hospitals and international medical organizations, the UAE seeks to improve the healthcare situation in the Gaza Strip. The ongoing conflict has resulted in dozens of hospitals becoming non-operational due to destruction and a lack of sufficient medicines and medical supplies.
In addition to this recent aid, the UAE has previously provided substantial medical assistance to Gaza hospitals, including 10 ambulances equipped with modern capabilities. To date, the UAE has sent a total of 337 tonnes of medical devices, medicines, and essential supplies to help increase the capacity of medical care institutions and hospitals in the region.
