UAE: Private sector workers to get up to four days off for Eid Al-Fitr

Work across federal offices and most private companies in the UAE will pause later this month as authorities confirmed the schedule for the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr break.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) stated that government entities will observe the holiday from Thursday, March 19, through Sunday, March 22, 2026. Employees in the private sector are set to receive time off from Thursday, March 19, to Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Officials added that the duration for private companies may be extended by one more day. If Ramadan completes 30 days, the private sector holiday will also run until Sunday, March 22, 2026.

In Sharjah, the Department of Human Resources separately confirmed the same four-day break for government departments in the emirate, beginning Thursday, March 19, and ending Sunday, March 22.

All sectors covered by the announcement are scheduled to resume normal operations on Monday, March 23.
