UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed declares 2025 as the Year of Community

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has officially declared 2025 as the Year of Community, with the slogan ‘Hand in Hand’. The initiative underscores the UAE’s commitment to fostering unity, empowering communities, and promoting shared responsibility among citizens and residents.

The Year of Community aims to strengthen family and community connections by preserving cultural heritage, nurturing intergenerational relationships, and creating inclusive spaces for collaboration and shared experiences. It calls on everyone living in the UAE to contribute through community service, volunteering, and impactful initiatives to drive collective progress.

The initiative also focuses on unlocking the potential of individuals, families, and organizations by fostering innovation and skills development in areas such as entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, and other national priorities. It seeks to enable inclusive growth and leave a lasting positive impact across the UAE.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Her Highness Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairperson of the Presidential Court for National Projects, will oversee the initiative. A series of events and activities will be launched throughout the year to promote community cohesion and uphold Emirati values.

In a statement, Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso A. Ver expressed support for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration. He encouraged all community members to contribute ideas and proposals that enhance social bonds, celebrate cultural diversity, and support the UAE’s vision of a strong and thriving nation.
