The chairman of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), H.E. Mohamed Al Hammadi, made a courtesy call to President Ferdinand ”Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at Malacañang Palace on Monday afternoon. The details of their meeting have not been disclosed by the Presidential Communications Office.
ENEC, under the mandate of the UAE Government, is responsible for the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program and the establishment of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, marking the Arab World’s first nuclear new build project. The corporation collaborates with various local, regional, and international stakeholders to advance peaceful nuclear energy in the UAE.
In other events, President Marcos chaired the 8th Philippine Space Council meeting earlier that day, where developments in space science and technology for the Philippines were discussed. A replica of the Multilateral Unit for Land Assessment satellite and the Pandora instruments, which measure air quality, were presented during the meeting.
