UAE motorists warned of poor visibility due to fog

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a warning to motorists about poor visibility caused by fog on Friday morning. A red alert was sent out, indicating that horizontal visibility could drop further until 9 a.m. today.

According to a Khaleej Times report, foggy conditions have been affecting the UAE for the past few days, particularly during morning hours. The weather department has predicted thick fog and advised residents to be cautious, especially when driving on major roads like the Dubai-Abu Dhabi highway.

Abu Dhabi Police also alerted drivers on social media to be cautious due to reduced visibility and to follow the speed limits displayed on electronic boards. Similarly, Dubai Police urged motorists to drive carefully in foggy conditions across parts of the emirate.

While fog is expected in some areas, the overall weather today is anticipated to be fair with occasional cloudiness. Humid conditions are forecasted to persist into Saturday morning, with possible fog or mist in coastal and internal regions. Light to moderate winds are expected, and the sea will remain slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
