From June 28, all mosques across the UAE will limit the duration of Friday sermons and prayers to a maximum of 10 minutes. According to a Gulf News report, this adjustment is intended to protect worshippers from the extreme heat and ensure their safety.
The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments announced this measure, which will remain in place until early October. They highlighted that the core principles of Islam emphasize ease and protection of life and health, aligning with the UAE’s proactive approach to citizen well-being.
Additionally, the authority reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a serene and spiritual environment for worshippers. They also thanked President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his continued support.
