In response to ongoing unstable weather conditions, including rains and thunderstorms, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) of the UAE has urged private companies to adopt flexible work setups on November 17. This advisory, issued on Thursday, is a proactive measure to ensure the safety of workers, particularly those involved in outdoor activities.
Mohre emphasized the importance of complying with occupational health and safety standards for essential outdoor work. The ministry also highlighted the need to protect the health and safety of workers during their commute to and from these locations.
In a related development, government schools in Ras Al Khaimah have shifted to remote learning due to the heavy rains affecting the emirate. Additionally, crisis management teams in the emirate are on high alert to handle any emergencies.
The weather forecast predicts varying intensities of lightning, thunder, and rain over the east, north, and coastal areas of the country for the next two days.
This is not the first instance of such precautionary measures. About three weeks ago, during a 28-day period of rainfall, Mohre had similarly recommended flexible work arrangements for a day to ensure safety and minimize disruptions.
