The UAE has successfully mediated a new prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine, facilitating the release of 300 captives—150 from each side. This latest exchange brings the total number of prisoners freed through UAE-led efforts to 2,883.
According to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), this marks the 12th mediation since the start of 2024, underscoring the country’s strong diplomatic ties with both nations.
The Ministry reiterated the UAE’s dedication to supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine and alleviating its humanitarian consequences, particularly for refugees and captives.
