The UAE has emerged as a leader in the Arab world for creative thinking and financial literacy, according to the latest results from the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). The results, unveiled at a forum hosted by the UAE from June 27 to 28, highlighted the country’s top ranking based on the 2022 evaluation.
PISA, conducted every three years, assesses educational systems by testing students’ skills and knowledge in participating countries. According to a Khaleej Times report, the UAE was recognized for its outstanding performance in financial literacy and creative thinking, sharing the top spot in the latter category with Qatar.
The UAE’s Ministry of Education (MoE), in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), organized the recent two-day event. The forum not only presented the PISA results but also included dialogue sessions on the future of education in the region, best practices, and experiences in educational development. Experts, researchers, and specialists shared their insights and research on various educational topics.
The UAE’s focus on creative thinking aims to enhance students’ cognitive skills and creative capabilities, while financial literacy initiatives ensure students can effectively manage financial resources for well-being and sustainability.
