The UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed, extended congratulations to Donald Trump on Wednesday after Trump secured the position as the 47th President of the United States. The UAE leader also congratulated JD Vance, the newly elected Vice President.
Sharing his message on social media, Sheikh Mohamed expressed his commitment to fostering the long-standing bilateral relationship between the UAE and the US. He emphasized the nations’ shared goals for progress and stated, “The UAE looks forward to continuing to work with our partners in the US towards a future of opportunity, prosperity, and stability for all.”
Dubai’s Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also celebrated Trump’s victory, noting the UAE’s anticipation of strengthened cooperation for regional and global peace and stability. He stated, “We congratulate U.S. President Donald Trump on his victory… In the UAE, we look forward to enhancing cooperation and working together to achieve stability and peace in the region and beyond.”
Trump’s victory marked a dramatic political comeback, winning against Kamala Harris and sparking widespread reactions from global leaders. Financial markets saw an uptick following the announcement. In his victory speech from Florida, Trump declared it a “magnificent victory for the American people.”
Meanwhile, Harris’s campaign ended on a somber note, with her team cancelling a planned watch party. Campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond stated that Harris would address her supporters the following day.
