UAE issues orange dust alert, residents urged to stay indoors

Motorists and residents in the UAE are being urged to take precautions as dusty conditions sweep across the country. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued orange and yellow alerts on Wednesday, warning of reduced visibility due to blowing dust in areas including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra.

“Lock all doors and windows to prevent dust from entering the buildings,” the NCM advised, reminding the public to drive carefully.

Alongside the dust, cooler weather is expected, with temperatures ranging from 32°C to 37°C during the day and dropping to between 22°C and 26°C at night. Winds will be moderate to strong, reaching up to 50 km/h in coastal and island regions, and 40–45 km/h inland and in the mountains.

The NCM also cautioned that the dusty weather will persist into Thursday, April 17.
