UAE hails Gaza ceasefire deal, calls for lasting peace in the region

The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the agreement on the first phase of a Gaza ceasefire framework, calling on all parties to urgently reach understandings that would end the ongoing war and restore peace and stability in the region.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the “significant efforts” of U.S. President Donald Trump for leading mediation efforts, while also praising Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey for their role in facilitating the talks that led to the breakthrough.

The ministry said the UAE hopes the agreement will mark “a positive step toward ending the humanitarian suffering” in Gaza and pave the way for a just and lasting resolution that ensures the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and promotes regional stability.

It also emphasized the need to build on this progress through full commitment to the agreement’s terms, restraint, and the resumption of a comprehensive political process toward a two-state solution that secures peace and prosperity for all.

Reaffirming its stance, the UAE reiterated its support for regional and international efforts to end the escalation and called for “urgent, extensive, safe, and unhindered” humanitarian aid delivery to the Palestinian people in Gaza.
