UAE gears up for Paris 2024 Olympics with 14 athletes and new uniforms

The UAE National Olympic Committee has unveiled the official delegation representing the country at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The team consists of 14 athletes, including both male and female competitors, who will participate in events such as equestrian, judo, swimming, cycling, and athletics. They will be supported by 20 technical and administrative staff members.

Notably, Omar Al Marzouqi, who secured a silver medal in individual showjumping at the 2018 Youth Olympics, will serve as the flag-bearer during the Opening Ceremony. The athletes have already arrived in Paris and are preparing for the Games, which will run from July 26 to August 11.

According to a Khaleej Times report, the UAE National Olympic Committee also revealed the official uniforms for the team, designed by Rawdha Al Shaafar from A Friend of Mine by Xpoze. The uniforms feature a modern and simple design, with the color white symbolizing strength, peace, and purity. The phrase “United Arab Emirates” is written in red Arabic text, representing courage and instilling pride in the athletes.

In addition to the competition, the UAE will host an ‘Emirati House’ at the Olympics, showcasing the nation’s heritage and hospitality. Open from July 27 to August 10, from 10 am to 8 pm (Paris time), it will offer a variety of activities and events for visitors, with free entrance.
