Airspace closures and aviation disruptions across the region had stranded hundreds of UAE residents — but coordinated government action has brought them home.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority said they worked together to bring approximately 500 Golden Visa holders and residents back into the country through both air and land entry points, after ongoing regional developments blocked their return.
Both agencies said preparations began from the earliest stages of the regional crisis, with each operating within its respective mandate. That included sustained coordination with UAE diplomatic missions abroad, continuous monitoring of the situation, and regular updates to contingency plans as circumstances shifted.
The two bodies described the operations as a demonstration of the UAE’s institutional readiness, saying the outcome reflects the integrated work of national entities and what they called the country’s ability to handle complex challenges with professionalism.
The announcements framed the effort within the UAE’s stated “People First” principle, which officials described as central to national policy and aimed at securing the wellbeing, protection, and stability of citizens and residents regardless of where they are located.
MoFA and NCEMA said the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors remains among the UAE’s top priorities.
