UAE drivers cautioned on foggy roads with temperatures reaching 49ºC

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a warning to motorists about reduced visibility due to fog on the morning of June 1. A red alert was issued, notifying residents that horizontal visibility could worsen until 8:30 AM.

In a social media update, Abu Dhabi Police advised drivers to be cautious on both internal and external roads in the emirate, urging them to slow down and follow traffic safety guidelines.

The NCM has maintained a red alert for heavy fog since May 29, with these conditions expected to continue today. Despite the fog, the UAE is expected to have generally fair weather, with increased humidity by Saturday night and Sunday morning in some coastal areas.

Temperatures are forecasted to rise significantly, reaching up to 49ºC in internal areas. Abu Dhabi and Dubai will experience highs of 45ºC and 42ºC, respectively. Light to moderate winds, occasionally freshening, are expected to blow across the country. Sea conditions will range from slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
