The Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) issued a statement on Wednesday to quash rumors circulating on social media about the death of a female student purportedly due to academic failure.
According to the advisory shared on their official platform, the ESE refuted claims stating that a student had died of a heart attack triggered by “repeating a school year” or failing academically. The authority stated, “It was fabricated by social media users and has no factual basis.”
Further investigation revealed that the name of the student mentioned in these posts does not appear in the records of any of the schools affiliated with the ESE.
The ESE also reminded the public that disseminating false information is a severe violation of the UAE’s cybercrime laws. The institution urged everyone to confirm news from official sources before sharing them on social media platforms.
