UAE condemns Iranian strike on gas facility, reserves right to respond

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared that a missile or drone attack attributed to Iran against the Habshan gas facility and Bab oil field constitutes a violation of international law, warning that Abu Dhabi retains the full right to take all measures necessary to protect its sovereignty and national security.

The ministry described the assault on the two energy installations as a direct threat not only to regional stability but to global energy security, framing the incident as an attack on critical infrastructure with consequences beyond the UAE’s borders.

Air defense systems successfully intercepted the strike, the ministry said, with no injuries reported.

The UAE stopped short of detailing what responsive measures it may pursue, but the reservation of rights language signals that further action has not been ruled out.

Authorities characterized the attack as a dangerous escalation, a phrase that carries diplomatic weight as the region continues to absorb the wider fallout of the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict that erupted in late February.
