UAE closes illegal training centre for operating without a licence

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has ordered the immediate closure of a training centre found to be operating without proper licences and engaging in multiple violations of education and safety regulations.

A joint inspection by the ministry and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation uncovered that the centre had been offering unapproved educational programs, enrolling students without authorisation, and even operating an unlicensed nursery. Officials also reported breaches of public safety standards and the employment of unlicensed staff.

Authorities coordinated with the Ministry of Education and the emirate’s Department of Economic Development to enforce penalties and halt the centre’s operations. Fines were imposed, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action. The Ministry also confirmed it is working with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority to block the centre’s online platforms used to promote unaccredited courses.

In a statement, the ministry said the move was intended to “protect students from unsafe or unlawful practices” and ensure that all education providers in the UAE meet official licensing and quality standards. It added that continued cooperation with federal and local entities remains crucial to safeguarding the public and improving the country’s education ecosystem.

Students and parents were urged to verify an institution’s accreditation status through the ministry’s website, www.mohesr.gov.ae, or by contacting its customer service hotline at 800511 before enrolment.
