The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority has ordered a full and temporary shutdown of the country’s airspace, citing rapidly deteriorating security conditions in the region.
The GCAA described the move as an exceptional precautionary step taken after a thorough evaluation of both security and operational risks, carried out in coordination with relevant national and international bodies. Airspace safety and the protection of UAE sovereignty, the authority said, remain non-negotiable priorities.
Passengers affected by the closure are urged to reach out directly to their airlines for the latest information on flight schedules. The GCAA noted that carriers are expected to arrange accommodation and necessary assistance for stranded travelers, working alongside local authorities where needed.
