The UAE is bracing for hazy mornings and soaring temperatures as the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts light fog over some coastal and inland areas from Monday to Wednesday.
The fog formation is being attributed to weak surface pressure systems coupled with an upper-level high-pressure zone, the NCM reported. Residents should remain cautious during early commutes, especially on Tuesday morning, when mist or light fog is most likely to appear in western coastal areas.
Meanwhile, heat continues to grip the country, with Sweihan in Al Ain registering a sweltering 49.1°C on Saturday at 12:30 PM — the highest temperature recorded over the weekend. Looking ahead, maximum daytime temperatures are expected to fluctuate between 35°C and 48°C, while nighttime lows may drop to anywhere between 23°C and 33°C.
Sunday’s weather remains generally clear, though parts of the eastern region may see sporadic cloudiness. Winds will shift between southeasterly and northwesterly directions, blowing at speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, occasionally reaching up to 30 km/h. Sea conditions are expected to stay light in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, although the western Gulf may become moderately rough at times.
The NCM’s extended forecast suggests largely fair skies until Wednesday, with occasional cloud buildup in the east. Nights are expected to remain humid across many parts of the country.
